Between me going to bed yesterday when it was still raining and 7 o’clock when I got up everything outside had frozen.
It was a while before I spotted any movement outside. Finally a few cars crunched on the ice as they went past. Then a neighbour walked slowly along the road on her way to work. While I was sorting the bird food out a mum and her youngster were struggling to keep upright as they walked to school. She said she was surprised that the school hadn’t been closed as others in the area were.
I decided that a morning of housework was a good plan and it probably helped keep me warm. After lunch I got my older boots out and attached the even older spiky (tiny studs) things to them. Then I walked confidently to Waterhead and back. Another photo in extras.
