Shining Silver Sea
Driving down Mount Sharaz (ie Monsaraz), a quick snap from out of the car window. Heavy rain had washed the world clean, and the Lake was shining in the sunlight. Bottom left, you can see some of the sharaz (rock roses) coming into bloom, love the resin scent of their leaves. Middle left is Mourão's castle on its lower hill; middle right the bridge we cross to get back home.
We'd been to take a loaf of Mike's bread and some bits to B and G, and were on our way to Safara, for lunch at Dan and Mireille's, where we ended up staying till almost dark, good chatting, and eating, of course - M is an excellent cook.
Gratefuls:
- decent amount of rain (the drought, especially in the Algarve, is serious)
- the beauty of this place we live and the gratitude I will feel when I someday get a proper camera again (you can imagine that this phone photo doesn't do justice to the beauty)
- talking to all three of our kids at some stage today, and glimpses of the grandkids; makes me feel grounded
