Henry IV
As in the fourth time Henry has been to visit. Today he was allowed to roam freely and he got on very well with the other two cats although there were times when it was ... not relaxed. On Saturday he is coming to stay for twelve nights when his "mummy and daddy" go to Hungary and Austria for a holiday.
This and a variety of other things blew a hole in my day and although my health was much improved I still feel tired from the nasty cold Part II (which unlike Henry IV part II was never made into a play by Shakespeare). As a consequence my podcast is going to be a day late this week. Annoying but when you are producer, director, technical support, performer, writer and publisher all in one a bout of illness is bound to be a failure point.
Looking back over my blips down the years (something I have had time to do in retirement) I was really struck by the contrast between how often I have been ill, stressed or tired and yet how full and yet how positive my life is in terms of wonderful family and friends, great cultural experiences and quite a lot of travelling. In short, the ups more than compensate for the downs. I'm no Superman but I have a super life.
I suppose if there is one thing we can say about being human it is that it is full of contradictions, opposites, and paradoxes. Like cats who kiss even though they have unresolved issues. But then cats are far superior to, and more complex than, humans.
