West House
We've had a busy day touring north west Greater London, looking for a potential venue to hold the reception after our aunt's funeral, with me driving, and my sister navigating (with the help of Google.).
We set out at 11am and didn't get back to our mum's house until 6pm.
This is West House and Pinner Memorial Park, dedicated to those who gave their lives in the two World Wars. It was so cold the ducks, pigeons and gulls were skating on the ice on the pond. On the far right of the photo is an aviary of budgerigars, and between that and West House is a modern building which houses the Heath Robinson Museum. We didn't have time to visit the museum but we had a coffee in the cafe in West House. Then it was on to Harrow to the Register Office, and to look at a couple more potential venues. Unfortunately, so far, none has been suitable for both function room and menu options, so more investigations are needed tomorrow!
Best bit of the day was watching WinterWatch, coming from Arne RSPB reserve, and Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour.
