Agapanthus head

I'm feeling marginally better today and thought I should get up and see if my energy levels are recovering - short answer is not much! I've made it as far as the sofa overlooking the back garden and I am buried beneath a duvet. The garden is a thickly carpeted with frost and it looks beautifully, bitterly cold outside. The bird food and apples put out by my husband have been almost instantly magnetic to the local bird life. Over by the hedge, what looks like a field fare is furiously demolishing one of the apples on the frozen ground and, elsewhere, two pigeons have swooped in to hoover up the fallen seed beneath the bird table (although one of them is making it clear to the other that it wants to be alone!). A rook has dropped in and is looking around nervously as it pecks around the fringes of the frozen grass, almost as if it knows it shouldn't really be here. Meanwhile , a magpie is sitting shiftily on a fence post, apparently planning its next move. And, on the arm of the garden bench, our resident robin has arrived to calmly survey the unfolding scene. Quite the entertaining show!
