Counting tits
The great big garden birdwatch is just over a week away. It is a great bit of citizen science, where you sit for an hour and count the number of each species of bird that land in your garden, allotment or park.
I ventured out to refill the bird feeders this morning and when parakeets allow, they are covered in blue tits, great tits and long tailed tits. So I'm practicing counting the number of birds and using the binoculars to distinguish the types. It isn't easy as they are so fast flitting between feeders.
Wondering what I need to put out to encourage the red kite to touch down this year.
