Sensory Sunshine

Out into the sunshine for a walk. I was enjoying the contrast and shadows. The sunshine seems to have been too much for the camera and the sensor shines through. 

Never seen this before. Can any of you Blip experts explain this? I presume the sunlight was too much for the sensor to cope with.
