Path past the Glacial Erratic Mound.
Well still no snow, but the sleet and hail in the evening didn't end up being as much of an ice rink as it could have been. That was probably die to the very cold dry wind. Some icy patches to walk across, but not as many as Tuesday. Bight and very cold out there. There might not be any snow, but at least the light is nice as shown in the blip photo. The trees are on the remnants of a mound that once held a very large glacial erratic boulder. It was quarried at the same time the sand pit existed. It was even visited by the Bristol and Gloucester Geological Society on Monday, August 4th 1913, details here.
A nice afternoon walk down to Braidburn Valley Park, and walking home in a rosy glow that signifies it will be a very cold night. By 9pm, there is a very thick layer of frost on cars. And the roads seem to be picking up moisture as they look very icy.
