Slicing melons

This time of the year, Tandy LOVES her cantaloupe. I'm the designated "slicer," and can slice and cube eight cantaloupes in around an hour. First, I halve them, scoop out the seeds, and then slice them into yet smaller slices to make them easy to remove the rind with a small paring knife.

Seems to work pretty well, but does anyone have an "easier" technique? I have heard about "shaving" the rind off. Tried that once, and found it to be MORE work than it is worth... Does anyone out there, have a more efficient method? I'm all ears :) Thank you.
