Walk along the beach

Whilst Florida is obviously much warmer than what we left in Cincinnati, the temperatures here are quite a bit lower than usual, and the weekend will be even cooler. There was also a distinct absence of sun - what we came for! However, a walk along the beach is always enjoyable, the sound of the ocean, though the water was quite calm this morning, numerous and varied birds, and numerous shells beneath our feet. We walked along to Bean Point, and then continued around to Rod and Reel Pier, which was where we came across the very photogenic brown pelican and snowy egret, both looking out for scraps from the fishermen! While we were watching the birds, we detected the aromas coming from the cafe on the pier, and it was lunchtime, so we decided to have some lunch, before walking back to our accommodation. The rest of the day we spent relaxing inside, for me that was knitting, reading and Duolingo.
