Long-tailed Tits

Today's the day ...................... for a huddle

There's nothing like the arrival of a gang of long-tailed tits on the bird feeders, to brighten up the day.

They are very sociable and stick together in groups of up to as many as sixteen or seventeen birds throughout the winter.  They will roost together at night because, being susceptible to the cold, there's a better chance of survival through the cold nights if they huddle together.

They will be glad to know, I'm quite sure, that there is some warmer weather on the way .........................
