Sparkling tea…
Who knew?
(A gift from the talk the other day).
… Pictured by a cake tin, where the pear cake is still hanging in. (Less moist by the moment, it must be admitted).
I’ve spent the last hour on the phone to one of the Elderlies.
In an effort to raise a laugh I teased, with borderline ‘naughty’ sayings…
I was reprimanded, ‘Ooo - you’ll be put in the pantry’!
It makes me wonder about the old days.. Did they really put children in the pantry for misdemeanours??
Was the pantry the first ‘naughty step’?
Probably not. I feel sure the Romans (and even the cave people parents) must have had a chilly equivalent? ‘Get to the darkest corner of the cave, the part where the fire doesn’t reach and that left-over mammoth from last week is getting furrier. And you can stay there until you’re sorry’.
Happy Saturday!
