Silverstone Day 1 - Practise

I can't believe I actually got up at 4:30 to go to the Friday practise day. But I did.
Arrived at the circuit at just before six on a beautiful sunny morning.
Managed to see 3 hours of formula 1 cars in their two practise sessions plus practise and a bit of qualifying from the support races. This was a practise day for me and Neil too, because we were roaming aroung the stands looking for the best vantage point to see tomorrow's F1 qualifying. We spent the morning in the Luffield Stand, and the afternoon at Club corner.
We finally decided that club corner afforded the best view, because we could see them belt round Stowe, along Vale, accelerate around Club and belt all the way to Abbey curve before they disappeared towards Bridge - a suberb experience. The wind decided to get up in the afternoon, and I froze my bollocks off.

For any other F1 buffs, this is a picture of Heikki Kovalainen in his McClaren-Mercedes decelerating towards the pit lane entrance in the morning session after a short stint on super-soft tyres.
