Amaryllis
I've been lazy with my blips and the amaryllis picture didn't quite turn out as I hoped so I just messed with it a bit.
Recently I've been on a bit of a Greek myths binge, have been really enjoying Natalie Haynes Stands up for the Classics (yes, it's on BBC Sounds mum!) and have been reading one of her novels this week too. This led to the 'Let's talk about Myths baby' podcast which has led me to thinking about picking up some Euripides. It also unfortunatly led me to trying to watch 'Troy' as I wanted some mythology in cinematic format.
This was a big mistake.
I had seen it before but must have forgetten how terrible it was the first time. No gods, none of the interesting bits of the story, just 'Achilles fight things', huge simiplification of all the characters and storylines and the worst bit was that these pronounced Menelaus 'Men-a-louse'. I turned it off after half an hour and indulged in some Pat Finnerty instead.
