Before the Storm
We set off a bit earlier this morning in the hope of missing the rain and wind, and we were lucky.
We walked in Hamilton Wood and around a couple of fields. It was about 6 degrees with little wind and really fine for walking.
We saw two brown hares, one in the field and another in the wood, although it may have been the same one. I love how upright they are when running and how huge their ears are. One roe deer came out of the wood, spotted us and hesitated, but then ran on across the corner of the field.
We were only home about ten minutes before the rain started. It’s got heavier all day, so at the moment the windows are nicely washed. No strong winds or gales yet, but they’re forecast for overnight.
Suzy and Maggie popped along in the afternoon with a pile of jigsaws and puzzles that the girls have grown out of. They will be perfect for Bonnie now.
