A Dive into Mayan History

My sister Emily and I had a terrific day…still very windy at her house, although the wind will subside by Tuesday morning. It was almost chilly by Yucatán standards ;-) We decided to visit the ancient Mayan archeological site of Dzibilchaltun which is quite close to where she lives. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dzibilchaltun. We hired a guide which was well worth the money. Fascinating history and information. The image in the main is the Temple of the Seven Dolls (more on Wikipedia in the link if you’re interested).

The extras are three images from the site, a selfie of sister Emily and me; the lovely painted toenails of yours truly testing the ocean this morning, and finally a heck of a surprise: a swarm of locusts!

We had dinner at a local restaurant that makes excellent wood fired pizza, celebrating Emily’s friend Claire’s birthday.
