Re-Kaff-Inated

The Planet X Kaffenaback rides again! First built up almost five years ago, intended as a sportive and audax bike, it has even done one time trial. But when my fixed wheel bike frame died a few years back the Kaff took over, the bars changed, and it became the daily workhorse. All of that took its toll, so when the wheels started cracking I decided on a spruce up - new wheels (including a dynamo front), change to a flat bar, new brake levers and a thumbie shifter, fancy wee new front rack (for a little camerabag)... And I'm rather pleased with how it's feeling. The only thing left to do is get a new chainring - decided to go with a single up front, so the front derailleur has been ditched - unfortunately the natural chainline is on the small ring, so I'm spinning out by 18mph. Need a few more teeth (and silver to match the other components).

Anyway, that's the boring bike chat. But then not much done today other than the finishing on that - though we did pop to the cat rescue place, where we got Isla, for their open day, and to have a look at one particular cat we'd seen on their website (though Paddy is a bit feart and to have to stand up to Isla we need a cat with a slightly stronger personality).
