Calm Between Storms

The wind began to ease here in the early hours. By 9am although still breezy, we were charmed with bright sunshine and blue sky. Merlin and I walked to the allotment to check for any wind damage. All was well.

We then wandered to the top end of the village to take in the view across the South Downs. The woodland is dark brown at this time of year but as spring arrives it’s possible to watch a gentle flush of green appear. It was so peaceful in the sunshine after the ferocious rain and wind last night.

This afternoon I’ve baked a tea loaf. It’s one of my staples and does indeed often accompany a cup of tea - after a dog walk or session at the allotment. It feels relatively healthy as it contains no fat. Meanwhile Andy has been making sausage rolls and the smell is wafting through the house. I suspect I shall succumb!

Grateful today:
- For a peaceful walk in the village this morning with time to sit and enjoy the view of the South Downs.
- To have time to enjoy planning this year’s vegetable and flower seed sowing.
- To see the moon shining bright in the sky as Merlin and I walked this evening. You may be able to see it in this Blip.
