Turkey
On the way to the owl field on a small country road I saw a rafter of turkeys which pottered along in front of my car wheels without a care in the world. Not wanting to run them over - we have eaten enough turkey recently, I stopped, dropped the window and took a few shots into the copse where they had scooted.
Strange looking birds. You might be wondering why collectively they are called a 'rafter' of turkeys: it's thought to be because they like to sleep in trees - up in the rafters.
