Didn’t he do well?
Yesterday I thought Herbie would need a little assistance with the ‘new’ long grass, but as can be seen (top right) he has tamed it all by himself. Just a few hours cutting yesterday and today and the whole lawn is looking acceptable, even in the areas where there is an extra layer of twigs compliments of Isha. He is set on a winter long plus cut at the moment so it won’t look that neat.
Isha had a good blow at us, fortunately mostly willow whips but she did manage to blow over our anemometer mast at 19:43 and 15 seconds (according to our CCTV). Luckily no damage done and I had it back up by ten past eight so no significant recording was lost. Our maximum gust was 49mph, but that was a couple of hours later.
Today I went out and got some new (proper) fixings (one of those jobs I hadn’t got around to – how many years ago . . . ) and did a Tesco shop. Got home feeling a bit sick with a bit of a temperature so today’s blip was nearly an EB. Ok – it is!
Feeling better after an afternoon’s kip, so I’m just about to cook some rice and serve up curried lamb (remains of yesterday’ joint)) for dinner.
