National Cycling Championships: Go Cav!

Men's Road race, Glasgow

Absolutely brilliant, the road race went right through the centre of Glasgow today, from Glasgow Green and around Kelvingrove Park. We just missed the end of the women's race but we saw Lizzy Armitstead collect her gold medal on the podium!

The men's race was very exciting, lots of breaks and spread over 13 laps around the city we had plenty of opportunity to see the riders. We varied our viewing place but I got this shot of Cav at the top of Kelvingrove Park, just after I shouted 'Go Cav!' The finish at Glasgow Green was very exciting with 4 riders in the first bunch. Mark Cavendish did a fantastic sprint and was crowned the National Champion!
