The Moon and Sixpence

It sounds like the name of a pub, and there is a Moon and Sixpence in Clevedon where we once stayed and used to go when we had a flat in the town.  But this Moon and Sixpence is referring to the book by William Somerset Maugham published in 1919 partly based on the life of artist Paul Gaugiun.  It is also a film made in 1942.

We went to GoodRoots for coffee this afternoon.   On leaving the sky was clear and the nearly full moon was showing clearly.  So I took a hand-held photo which surprisingly turned out not too bad, by my standards.

The tricky bit was the Sixpence.   We didn't have any 'old' money in the house having left all the coins in a tin box at the old house.  So I compromised and used a five pence coin, only one penny out!

Thanks to steveng for hosting today's Mono Monday - book/film title.
