The Fisher…..

Breaker Bay early this morning. Shawn, a local fisherman, had three surf-casting rods set up in a row at the water’s edge. I stopped and had a good chat with him. He catches Kahawai, a strongly flavored fighting fish, and he is sometime lucky enough to catch a blue cod. His and my favourite fish. We discussed the brief spell of torrential rain that woke most of the camp at 4.am. Back to the present…at 8.am….. sea was almost flat and there were very few other folk there for an early swim.
