Not the best photo but we visited the New Lanark World heritage site today. It was fascinating - Thomas Owen, the mill owner tried to build a good society for his mill workers, providing them with housing and free power, etc, but at the same time still employed children making them work 10 hour days and sent inspectors into people's homes to make sure that they were clean enough for his standards..!
