Not yellow but grey

Despite what your eyes may seem to suggest, this is the Grey Wagtail, not the Yellow Wagtail.  This one is the female, the males have a small black bib.  Unlike the Yellow Wagtail (currently away in Africa), the Grey is not a migrant.  At this time of year, the Grey likes to hang around puddles, even in urban environments.

I popped into Bristol earlier on to get our fresh coffee beans from the roasters.  They offer all first responders a discount and this morning their shop was full of police and ambulance staff, with one ambulance and 3 police vehicles parked outside.  Finding a anywhere to park was a real problem and in the end I just had to keep my fingers crossed that they don't also give a discount to traffic wardens.
