Palliative care volunteer training

Today the second day of my palliative care course training. The course is held in the palliative daycare facility of Bruges and N Westr Flandres. The subject of today was communication. How and what to communicate with the palliative people you care for. Quite interresting and among the 9 participants quite some discussions and thoughts around the matter. Next monday will be the last day of the course. After that we have to do a short internship respect hte daycare, homecare, and the palliative care hospice( for people who only have short time , days or weeks, to live) Our duty is not really physical care but being there for them in communication ; eventually activities and so on. After the internship , te organisation will tell us what fits best for us. I would like to choose for home care. We visit the person twice a month and give them time for about 3 - 4 hours.The photo is taken in the entrance of the day care facility. The paintings are made by the daily visitors. I added the bird whichis somehow symbolic.
