Sunset Glory
While Jan set off for town and some necessary shopping our visitors and I took an afternoon snowshoe trip up on the hill behind the house. As we set off the sky to our right was just clearing, with blue sky patches appearing, while the sky to our left was a dark ominous colour. We wondered which way the weather was moving. Would the clear sky arrive overhead, or would it be the dark cloud?
By the time we reached the copse of trees that mark the end of this route we knew it was the clear sky that was winning.
As we turned for home the cloud starting glowing red and all the way home we just had to keep pausing and looking back to the dramatic display.
Once home again we did an extra trip, snowshoeing right down the field behind the house, and then returning the same way, slightly to one side. In this way we hope we created a good and broad sledging track for tomorrow or the next day when the cold weather arrives.
With thanks to BrambleBlossom, because I couldn't find my camera/phone when we set out, so she donated this picture to me!
Unsurprisingly BrambleBlossom also blipped the sunset and even Jan in town chose the same phenomena!
