I love the colours of these tiles, on the side wall of one of the old village houses which adjoins a public footpath leading up to the hilltop. I walked round the village before lunch: it was reasonably bright, though cloudy, the wind had eased after a very noisy night listening to Storm Isha in the trees, and it was about ten degrees (C) warmer than it has been for over a week.

Our day began with the last of J's online wellbeing sessions, for the moment at least. She has really enjoyed the relaxation and creative visualisation, live streamed on Facebook, which began early in the first Covid lockdown when her care centre moved as many activities as possible online. It's astonishing to realise that this was almost four years ago (and we are still here following things online). She will miss this calm and positive start to her week. We are waiting to hear what (if anything) will be put in its place. After my walk, she did her daily cycling session, and I spent the afternoon immersed in bank statements, payroll documents and invoices, ensuring that all the necessary paperwork was in place and organised for the annual audit of J's direct payments account. This is the dedicated bank account into which the local authority funding for her care is paid, and from which I pay the invoices and employ the PAs. It's more work managing it all independently, but allows us more control over who works with J and how we use the hours allocated, which makes the admin worthwhile.
