The Shadows Lie Long
Two furious thunderstorms came through the Twin Cities in two days, the second preceded by high winds. This is a fairly typical scene around Minneapolis. Luckily it seems no-one was hurt or killed, but some houses have been destroyed, trees have fallen, many people have been without power (and the weather is hot and humid), and a large sinkhole has developed somewhere in the city. The problem was saturated ground combined with 70 mph winds and fully-leafed trees. I'm sure the city will be beautiful again in no time - so many trees!
