Wet Pipes + Dry Brush

Thanks for the encouraging comments yesterday. I'm now coming to terms with the confirmation that I have Parkinson's Disease (stage one). The specialist will be writing to my GP and tablets should follow, which should compensate for the fall in dopamine and help reduce my tremor. The man I saw was lovely and very reassuring, but having nursed my mother through PD to her death in 2012, I'm not wholly convinced. That said, I am aware how slow it is to develop, and perhaps the specialist was simply trying to make sure I don't waste my better years worrying about later years. If so, he's quite right. Nuff said!

On to the next: Mr PP has his second hip replacement this coming Monday, almost exactly six years since his first (in Plymouth). This time, he's chosen to have it done at a hospital in the south-east, and our son is picking us up at the weekend and taking us to his house for the duration of Mr PP's hospital stay. He will drive us home, too, after the patient's discharged. The pre-op regime began today, Mr PP scrubbing himself in the shower with special cleanser, day after day, to reduce risks of infection. Each shower requires clean towels, bedding and clothes, so what's happened? Our washing machine has developed a leak. Mr PP is in the process of investigating...!

Didn't go line-dancing this morning on account of my cold, though I'm not feeling too bad with it now. Spent a chunk of the day with a renewed spurt of clutter-clearing. I have too much stuff and I feel the need to make a fresh start on reducing it. Meanwhile, pulling out the washing-machine to expose the pipes has given me a 'pattern' for this week's Abstract Thursday challenge, with thanks as ever to host Ingeborg. (You can see where the wet plaster is a darker pink than the dry wall.) I've given the photo a dry brush treatment - that'll fix the leak, right?!
