YUK!

It's a foggy foggy day in my neighborhood but at least it's not raining and terribly cold.  Two days ago the high temp was -1°F. (-18°C.)....right now it's 37°F. (3°C.).  On top of a few feet of cold snow the present warmth generates all sorts of fog.  If the fog remains and the temp drops below freezing tonight, tomorrow will be a wonderland of hoar frost.

What you have here is a Red Pine (Pinus resinosa) which is hardly recognizable in all the fog.  I know for sure what it is because I see it all the time. You can barely recognize its color much less its species. Should also mention the cluster of Staghorn Sumac (Rhus typhina) around its base.  Such a beautiful, brilliant red color it has in the fall.

Fog makes driving ones car a bit tricky...especially for those who have trouble concentrating on what they're doing.  Most drivers know to slow down a bit when their eyesight is compromised.....but not everyone.  There's always some yahoo out there who has to go above the posted speed limit and causes a lot of rear end collisions especially if another dimwitted driver is going slow in the hammer lane.  WAKE UP PEOPLE!

BEST IN LARGE.....but still not easy to see due to fog.
