Arrival

The plane lands in Bangkok pretty much on time. None of us have had much sleep, but we're in high spirits. There's quite a queue for immigration, but our bags still haven't arrived on the carousel by the time we get through the queue, photographing, and fingerprinting.

A detour to the basement to change some English £50 notes and the it's into a taxi and off to the city centre. We're staying at New Siam 2 (there's also a New Siam 3) which is really close to Rambuttri Road and a ferry/boat pier.

The goal.is to.stay awake until after dark, so we take a stifling walk along the river. My new flip flops are going to take some breaking in.

Cocktails and dinner on Rambuttri, then a walk to tourist central Khao San Road (extra). Kerry buys a wooden frog.that croaks when you run a stick down it's back.

And then sleep.
