New toy.

With the recent purchase of a full frame camera I only had one proper lens suitable, my 50mm. Although I love this lens it can be a bit limiting. I loved the kit lens with my old APS-C camerA (18-105mm) so decided to get something in that range. A good all rounder, a 'travel' lens.

At 712g it's a lot lighter than most full frame lenses - but heavier than I was expecting. In fact, full frame all round has been a lot heavier than I was expecting. Will have to get on with those weights then!

Picked it up from Park Cameras and got £70 off under the Nikon purchase scheme. It was an imaging expo this weekend at the shop and very busy! Thanks to the other half cornering one of the sales guys we were in and out pretty quickly. Did like the camera ice sculpture, wanted to lick it, but refrained.
