Red flowering gum

This cluster of flowers is on a tree in a front yard in the next street. I think it is a Western Australian one, with its bold large flowers and large seed pods. These trees don't grow too tall either which is great for around here.

Today temperatures exceeded 38C with a strong wind. Planned barbecue didn't take place so we cooked inside.
