New ventures

Due to R’s chest infection we have cancelled the lunch we had arranged with friends for Saturday, but I had been planning to cook a new set of Eastern dishes using ingredients that are new to me. These arrived within 24 hours of ordering them (Amazon take a bow) and were not available on the usual grocery sites, and I am still going to try them out. The black dal is particularly intriguing as it requires several hours of soaking and cooking so hope it’s worth it.
