TV Sun

I took this whilst watching The Secret Life of the Sun on BBC2. It shows the magnetic field lines of the Sun, made visible by the plasma flowing along them. The photo is taken at wavelengths beyond visible light, hence we do not see this kind of thing in 'normal' vision.
The programme was presented by oooh look at me presenting an exciting thing to less clever people out there, must rush off to Australia and cry at an eclipse Kate Humble and the rather more prosaic Helen Czerski who was much more sensible and grown up about it all. I enjoyed the pictures and some of the info although the whole thing was more about DRAMATIC TELEVISION than anything else.
