“Muddy Waters”
The appropriately named boat bathed in the early evening Tewksbury light. The floodwaters have receded after the severe flooding but the mud and “sewage detritus” will take longer to clear up. A massive mill boom had broken free and is blocking the footpath beside the old mill, leading to The Ham. The Environment Agency has denied it is their responsibility to remove it but will have to exercise emergency powers under The Water Resource Act 1991. Their laminated note asks if anyone wishes to claim ownership! Don’t hold your breath, me thinks!
