Chicken feed

This is a taxi driver buying chicken feed north of Stone Town in Zanzibar. He also did a detour to show me his house, and overshot the turning we needed. It was an unnecessarily protracted journey but an exciting one as I was off to meet Adam, who I last saw five years ago when I dropped him off at Phnom Penh airport in a tuk-tuk. He’s in East Africa for work, so he bobbed across from Kenya and I bobbed across on the ferry after slipping out of the office early.

I like the owl peering down from the upper paintwork. I didn’t notice it at the time as I was too busy willing the taxi driver to buy his chicken feed in a prompt manner.
