The full moon was sinking down behind the mountains with last night’s new snow glowing pink in the dawn sunlight.    People were having difficulties clearing the thick layers of ice on their cars as we walked past on the way from Pitlochry though woods and beside the loch and rivers to Killiecrankie  We discovered that the footbridge over the gorge was closed off so had to do a short detour climbing up to the old road then back to the Garry Bridge where we watched the daredevil bungee jumpers.  A sandy beach where we have sometimes had a picnic was completely covered and the Garry had obviously recently been at least two metres higher judging by the vegetation on the trees.  The water at the Linn of Tummel was roaring down and looked very different from a previous visit.  The extra shows one of the many waterfalls that we passed and the view later near the Cluny Power Station looking beyond the line of the Garry Bridge to Carn Liath near Blair Atholl. It had been a very good, but muddy walk with views of red squirrels too and we arrived back at Pitlochry just as it started to rain.
