During today's wander and click I spotted signs of life.  I must, at this point, mention that, with Alice's demise, I kinda lost interest; NOT "interest IN", just interest. As a direct consequence I h ave a fine, extensive crop of Weeds.
       Having seen signs of life I pulled away a shroud of last year's Hay and found this/these.  It steers me in the direction of a prolonged, much extended "series" - log the first appearance of each flower in turn - IF I can.
