The Newcastle CBD is changing from business to residential precinct more and more business premisses are being converted into residential areas, the university has several campuses within 1km of the Post Office so this brings a lot of people into the city which has been in decline since the earthquake in 1989. So coffee shops, food outlets and small shops are thriving.
