Heard a funny expression yesterday that had us laughing...and remembering life a longggg time ago. It was to the effect that people used to 'watch the radio' whereas now, of course,  they watch TV! I'd never thought of it like that, but it's not far off the truth, especially when you were listening seriously, not using it as background music.
