Not Fade Away

New shelves, stained & varnished to "match" the floor and other woody living room things. The fire mantel desperately needed doing as I made the mistake of waxing it when we had the log burner fitted a couple of years ago. The wax evaporated from the heat and the oak colouring faded somehow. Hopefully this'll do the trick.

On a clumsy note, I tripped over our dog, Taylor, not Swift this morning. Being a little (and partially blind) dog she tends to get in the way of human foot work. In this case I tried to avoid squashing her but as I stepped over Taylor moved into my next step then bam, landed on my knees on the pavement. Ouch. Hardly welcoming after my icy fall on Saturday.
