Wheelbarrows

Back on 28th February I blipped our old wheelbarrow which is now a garden ornament. This interesting old wheelbarrow wasn't abandoned by us, but a gift from next door.

Today we were at the hardware store when I spotted this row of shiny brand new wheelbarrows. They provide quite a contrast with our old one.

Bigger barrows.

The wheelbarrow may have existed in ancient Greece in the form of a one-wheel cart.
The earliest descriptions of Chinese wheelbarrows in the form of a one-wheel cart come from 2nd century Han Dynasty tomb murals and brick tomb reliefs. The painted tomb mural of a man pushing a wheelbarrow was found in a tomb at Chengdu, Sichuan province, dated precisely to 118 AD.

Thanks to all of you for the many stars, hearts and comments on my swallow yesterday. It is always nice to hit the Spotlight.

Paladian and I also had Indoor Rowing 2000m time-trials today as part of our training in preparation for the Aussie Masters Games in October. We both did better than in our last tests this year, so all is on track.
