Down Home Music

This is the book I talked about in a previous blip. It arrived in the mail today from Nora. I spent a better part of the day reading it and looking at the fabulous photos. It was also fun to search for the musicians on YouTube and listen to their music. The majority of these musicians made very little money but their music was inspiration for The Rolling Stones, Elvis and the Beatles to name a few. The author and photographer arrived in the US right after WWII and spent the rest of his life traveling around the country to visit the artists he had heard on the radio during the war recording and photographing them.
