Masasi
Since I was last here, change has come to Masasi, the district town where we have our field office. I usually stay at a guesthouse one block from the main drag, accessible via a highly rutted mud track. The ruts have now been banished and several kilometres are now neat gravel roads. A sign of economic development romping through remote parts of Tanzania. The mounds of earth pushed aside still flank the road in front of the simple homes inhabited by the townsfolk of Masasi.
