War memorial

This is the Aegidienkirche (Aegidien church) in Hannover. The church dates back to 1347 when it replaced an older church dating to 1163.

The Aegidien church was destroyed by aerial bombings during the night of 8 October 1943. In 1952 it became a war memorial dedicated to the victims of war and violence.
