Kaybees Bits

Victim.

It was a bit breezy this morning when I went out to the garage this morning but nothing like the other day.
However, when I went to come in for a coffee my Japanese tree was rocking....and leaning over the fence/hedge. Not great as it is a bit over 25 feet tall
It was a quick coffee and back out to see how bad it was.
It was BAD!
Something needed done right away.
SWMBO went to see is somebody she knows was at home as her husband is a tree surgeon.
I went and got a set of steps, a saw and the hand axe.
The old Scout training in tree felling came to the fore ..... greatly assisted by luck.
I knew that the weight in the crown of the tree and its angle of lean would take it over the corner of the fence so both next doors car and mine would be ok.
I then had a reasonable feeling that if I cut the trunk at about hedge height there was a reasonable chance the fence may stay in one piece..
So, 'Faint Heart Never Won Fair Lady'...... (or something like that)...... Up the ladder I went.
It came down perfectly. Right where I thought it would and the weight at the top end flicked the cut end over the fence and it came down without touching it.
It was then a case of removing the branches and cutting the trunk into manageable (which I will use for turning) and piling things up so there was no restricting parking or risk to next doors car.

After lunch I went out and got the shredder out and started firing stuff through it.
Well, I say 'firing', but the greenery on the tree is really soft and is not keen at all on going through the shredder so it takes a lot longer than it should. In fact it is going to take a couple of days to shred it all to get it to the dump ..... which will require making an appointment.

Tonight my back is really complaining and I am on the pain killers (so much for the drink I was going to have).

After lunch I got out
