Sheep story
Towards the end of our walk today, we came across this sheep. She'd probably fancied the last windfalls in the orchard, and subsequently got her head stuck in the fence.
It was a bit of a dilemma, as with Hendricks on the lead I didn't feel I could go near her to help (this was taken from a distance with the long lens). I was thinking of finding somewhere to tie him up, when I spotted the farmer walking towards us across the field. He'd been past to count his sheep, and saw there was one missing. I had a brief chat with him a little further along the fence, and he told me this is the second time this adventurous girl has got herself in a spot of bother in the last few days - she previously got through the fence and stranded herself on the bank of the burn. AND she's due to lamb imminently!
She didn't seem to to mind him grabbing her hind legs and pulling her free, and she walked away quite sedately.
