Aargh!
Photo actually taken yesterday, but it became rather pertinent today!
After cutting down an ageing acer plant which had become very leggy and was not in a good state, I began to feel a little off colour, with a lump in my throat and itchy arms (which I initially dismissed as perhaps indigestion and insect bites). Fast forward a few hours and the itching had spread, plus the appearance of hives, everywhere, and my lips became slightly swollen!
A quick trip to the local NHS walk-in clinic confirmed that it is urticaria, probably brought on by inhalation of particles from the acer. So I’m now on courses of antihistamines and steroids, and still very itchy when I move about!
Blimmin’ gardening!
